Had anyone heard of tagua jewelry before ?
Hey everyone,
Genuine question here.
I run a small jewelry business that works with tagua (also known as vegetable ivory), a natural seed from Ecuador. Since starting the business, I’ve been surprised by how many people tell me they’d never heard of tagua at all until they stumbled onto my brand.
So now I’m curious:
Had you heard of tagua jewelry before?
• If yes — where did you first see or learn about it? • If not — what did you think it was when you first saw it (wood, resin, plastic, etc.)? I’m asking purely out of curiosity and to understand awareness around sustainable materials. Not trying to sell anything — just interested in how people discover niche, eco-friendly alternatives like this.
Thanks! 🌱
