The struggle to filter for natural fibers when shopping online
Grad student here doing research for a class project and I’d love any input from this community.
The problem that inspired my project:
I prefer natural fibers over synthetics for sustainability and quality reasons. But retail site filters are nearly useless. Search for "cotton" and you get 100% cotton mixed with cotton/polyester/elastane blends. There's no reliable way to filter for only natural fiber clothing or view complete fabric composition without reading every single product description.
My question is, would a tool that overlays accurate fabric filtering (showing only 100% natural fiber garments) actually be useful, or is this a non-issue for others?
I made a simple concept page describing what that tool would do. I'm not selling anything, not collecting emails, and not building this as a business. This is purely for my grad program.
I just need to see if people would click "Try it" if this existed. Clicking just tells me whether I'd be solving a real problem by building this tool or if no one else is really frustrated by this the same way I am. I'm only collecting data until 2/10. No personal info collected, just anonymous clicks.
Thanks for reading and for supporting my research!
