Why does row height and row width use different units? WTF?

Seriously, what kind of amateurs are working at MS?

The default ratio of a cell in Excel (at least in my version) is roughly 1.7 width to 1 height. It's wider than high.

If I right click on a row number and select "Row Height...", it shows me row height is 14.4. No unit but who cares. Since cells are wider than higher if I do the same for "Column Width..." it should be higher, right? Nope, it's fucking 8.11.

WHY? WHY NOT USE THE SAME UNITS? or at least tell me what these are. Seriously, what is wrong with whoever designed this?

That company is worth 3 trillion $....producing stuff like that.

So my question: Anyone knows how to transform these two scales?
