Are there any ethically made, natural fabric scrubs that exist?
I’ve been trying to make more sustainable clothing choices lately, and that now includes my workwear too. So I started wondering about medical scrubs. Are there options made from natural fabrics that are also ethically produced? Most scrubs I see are polyester blends, which I understand for durability and easy washing. But they’re not the most breathable, and sustainability-wise they’re not ideal either. I’ve been looking into cotton, bamboo, or even hemp blends, but it’s been hard finding brands that clearly state ethical manufacturing alongside natural materials. Local uniform stores mostly carry standard synthetic blends. Online I’ve seen a few eco-focused brands and some natural-fabric listings on marketplaces, though transparency about sourcing isn’t always clear. If you work in healthcare and prioritizes sustainability, what scrub brands or materials have you found? Do natural fabrics hold up to frequent hospital washing, or do they wear out faster? I’d love something breathable, responsibly made, and still practical enough for clinical environments. Idk, I feel like sustainable scrubs should exist… I’m just finding it harder to source them.
