Historic Currency conversion based on date in cells

Hey guys,

Struggling to find an answer to this. I need to convert currency from Euro to GPB based on past transactions dates in my business expense tracker. I found a similar answer on a forum:

=stockhistory("Eur/GBP",Date(2019,07,24),,,0,1)

Problem with the above is that there are hundreds of transactions I need to automate, and I cannot replace the date section with the cell containing the date to automate it. When I remove the 2019,07,24 and select the cell which has the date I need I get a "You've entered too few arguments for this function" error.

Is there a better way to automate this?

In a nutshell:

Transactions date, Amount paid, Need to convert from Euro to GBP base on the exchange rate on that particular transaction date.

Apologies if I'm doing something silly, I'm a casual user of excel and really only use it as a tracker.
