Any tips on stopping my Lucy&Yak jeans being a lint magnet?

Hi all! Last year I bought a pair of 100% cotton black Addisons from Lucy and Yak. I love the fit and feel but whenever I brush up against any surface I come away covered in stuff! I’ve always worn a lot of black, but I’ve never owned an item of clothing that’s so dedicated to picking up lint. I can’t wear them anywhere!

Is this a feature of natural fibre clothing that no one warned me about? Can I prevent it somehow? Do I have to resign myself to only using my nice new jeans for gardening? Any advice would be appreciated
