What happened with Lightroom? It won’t do anything anymore.

Context:

I have a PC built in 2018 with a 32gb RAM and use a gaming GPU to help with graphics. Never have so had a problems with anything OTHER than adobe products to. If I edit ANY photos, I cannot have anything else open. Not a browser, not a file folder, not even discord (even If im not using it). In task manager, it shows I am using 24gb of RAM just by opening the program. I know my PC isnt top notch anymore but 32 GB of RAM, an 8 core gaming CPU, with a GPU assisting all this this 8GB of RAM on that should be enough to edit a photo. Telling your paying customers to upgrade their PC to a $5k+ one just because you dont want to optimize your software to work is lazy AF.

I cant be the only one having this issue. Most people I know dont even have 32GB of RAM to work with. Im even getting errors of "not enough memory". Rant over, any legit alternative suggestions will be awesome.
