Connecting Timeline to Filled Map and Line Chart

Hello everyone,

I am currently doing an assignment for school and having a really hard time figuring out this one step.

The question asks: On the "Dashboard" sheet, add a timeline to your charts. Create a connection between this timeline and both the line chart and the filled map, allowing them to be filtered by quarter.

Obviously without context on the whole assignment it might not make sense but essentially I have made a Line Chart from a Pivot Table. Then I was required to make a filled map visual. So, I extracted the data from the pivot table for the map, and made the map. Now I have my two graphs that I need.

However, upon making the timeline for the line chart and wondering how to connect them, my research has led me to the fact that both charts need to come from pivot tables that are connected in order to create a shared timeline. BUT MY FILLED MAP DOESN'T COME FROM A PIVOT TABLE because excel won't let me.

I have been stuck on this and no AI knows how to do it and this is for a intro to excel class so I'm assuming it's quite simple I just can't figure it out at all.

  1. Thank you
