Turning Text Form Responses into data values by date range

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a function / series of functions to turn the form responses in a recruiting spreadsheet (see screenshot) into month by month data tracking.

Basically, when an applicant is processed through the system, a new entry is made with their name, whether they were contacted, and then a series of yes/no answers as to whether they received a screening interview, in-person, second interview, and ultimately whether they were hired.

My workplace wants to make a sheet where, for each month, there's tracking for total number of applicants processed, how many were screened, how many got a first interview, how many got a second interview, etc. This would also include totals for "how many applications came from Indeed, our own website, or Other" (tracked in the blacked-out column on the right).

I'm newer at Excel and struggling to think through whether this is one big, long Lookup-style function for each month and each category, or if there are intermediate steps that needs to pull these Yes/No answers out and turn them into 1's and 0's first.
