What's a destination that used to be way more mainstream that it is now?

it seems that everyone is travelling more these days and there are a lot of mainstream destinations that used to be very niche a few years back (for example Taiwan, South Korea, Central Asia).

But what are some places that have lost popularity in the last few years? Nothing comes to my mind right now.
