dry fingers

how to i get my fingertips to stop looking like this? other than the obvious “dont pick at them” because thats a habit im already trying to break lol. they look a little less dry because i have vaseline on them rn so just imagine them dryer than the sahara desert. but i havent had normal fingertips in a couple years now and its super annoying. plus im hoping that once they properly heal, it will help me stop picking at them. these are just two fingers that are pretty bad rn, but its really my whole hand. anyone have advice on how to fully heal them and then maintain them? thanks :)
