What the hell is this???
I found this laying in the general free range yard/pasture area today. It looks pretty gross, but it’s supper jelly or thin fluid filled and maybe that’s a yolk?
It wasn’t in or around a nesting box or where any of the hens would typically lay. I tried google lens and it was saying a decomposing buckeye fruit, but I don’t think there’s any of those on the property.
My assumption is it’s an egg of some sort. It might be a lash egg, but it’s not hard or rubbery at all. It could be a shell-less egg or some other ailment. Definitely yucky.
Any ideas?
Thank you for your help!
