Has anyone filed a claim with Generali travel insurance for illness-related trip cancellation?
I had to cancel a trip because I got really sick (high fever, flu symptoms) and wasn’t able to travel. I didn’t go in person, but I do have a doctor’s note from a phone/telehealth visit confirming I wasn’t fit to travel.
Now that I’m filing the claim, they’re asking me to sign a medical records release. I’m a little unsure what to expect here.
Curious if anyone has gone through this:
Do they actually follow up with your doctor?
Is a telehealth note usually sufficient?
Anything that helped your claim get approved or delayed it?
Appreciate any firsthand experiences or tips 🙏
