Cells in table won't update format

Using Web Excel, unfortunately

For reasons I can not fathom, the cells in my table are all strings, except for the very first one. I have tried reformatting, but only the first one will update. When I created the table yesterday, all cells were set to Number, and then I saved and went home. Today, it's all strings. My formula can't return string values

How do I force a format update in the table?
