Event photography vs AI: do you feel insulated?

I'm a software dev getting more serious about event photography on the side. I even have a hopefully regular paying client. Generative AI can obviously fake a convincing photo, but for events the value is capturing real moments. That feels harder to displace than, say, stock or product photography.

Do working event/wedding/theatre photographers feel the same? Has the rise of GenAI actually changed anything for you? Are clients asking about it, or is this a non-topic?

Feel free to add your thoughts if you come from another area of photography!
