I visited Constanța, Romania a week before the summer season started.

| Decided to head down to Constanta about a week before the official summer season kicks off, and honestly, it’s the best time to go if you want to beat the crowds. I spent the day just walking the shoreline. The beaches are still super peaceful, and it's fun seeing the classic gogoșerie and autoservire spots sitting empty, just waiting to wake up for the summer rush. It's really cool exploring the contrast in the architecture around the area, too—you have these fascinating, weathered historical buildings and monuments sitting right alongside modern updates. The highlight of the walk was definitely the famous Constanta Casino. They recently finished the renovations, and it looks absolutely stunning shining in the sun right on the promenade. There were already people out enjoying the view. Of course, I couldn't leave without having the ultimate Romanian seaside meal. Capped the day off on a quiet, shaded terrace by the water with a cold beer and a massive plate of local fried fish (hamsie), fresh lemon, and plenty of garlic sauce (mujdei). Highly recommend checking the coast out this time of year if you want a more relaxed experience before the madness begins! [link] [comments] |
