Is South Africa Atlantis Dune worth going? And what is the safest/ best route from Atlantis Dune to Betty's Bay/ Garden Route?

I have the following questions in my mind and I wish to hear your opinions.

1. I saw some interesting activities at Atlantis Dune. Is it worth going? I note from some forums/ website that there are gang activities in Atlantis. Is it safe to travel there?

2. I wish to start the Garden Route after activities in Atlantis Dune (leaving at around 14:00 Thursday). What is the safest/ best route to get to Betty's Bay?

   a) Google Map suggestion: R307. R27, M19, N7, N1, R300, N2, R44 (but this section of N7 and R300 are unsafe according to my searches)

b) R307, R27, R304, R44 (the safety of this route is unknown, seemingly involving a long stretch of rural road)

c) R307, R27, M5, N2, R44 (has to pass by a sketchy part of N2)
