Is Sep or Oct better for San Pedro De Atacama and Vicuna

Planning a trip aimed at stargazing and observatories and I will stay in Vicuna and then San Pedro De Atacama. Not doing Salar De Uyuni.

What would you recommend - September or October? Will book as per the moon phase but unsure which of the 2 months to target. Thanks in advance!
