Need Opinions on 9-Day Sri Lanka Travel Plans

Hi all!

I will be spending 9 days in Sri Lanka in about two weeks and would love to hear your thoughts on two possible travel plans.

I am mainly wondering whether these routes seem realistic. I would like to avoid spending too much time in transport, since I also want to have enough time for surfing, yoga and relaxing, but I would still love to see a few different places on the island.

Plan 1

14 May: Arrival → Negombo/Colombo
15 May: Negombo → Udawalawe, around 4 h
Safari either on the afternoon of 15 May or the morning of 16 May
16 May: Udawalawe → Ella, around 2.5 h
17 May: Ella
18 May: Ella → Weligama/Ahangama, around 4 h
19–23 May: Surf, yoga and chilling on the south coast
23/24 May: Evening/night transfer to the airport

Plan 2

14 May: Arrival → Ahangama/Weligama
15–18 May: Surf, yoga and chilling on the south coast
19 May: South coast → Udawalawe, around 3 h
20 May: Morning safari, then back to the south coast
21–23 May: Weligama/Ahangama
23/24 May: Evening/night transfer to the airport

I would be very happy to hear your honest opinion on whether either of these plans makes sense, or whether one of them sounds too rushed.
