Brand new chick with severed toe and a couple seem broken? Already treated but not sure how it happened.

I've since cleaned it, dyed her feet blue, and wrapped the bad foot along with ointment. ( Feet blue so they are less inclined to peck at it, my hands are also now fully blue) Not an expert at this at all this was my first Incubator hatch, her and four others. One other has a broken toe but I'm not sure how? There was nothing sharp in the incubator and she couldn't have gotten her toe stuck so idk. I just went on gut of how to treat it I think she'll be fine but idk how she did this.
