This is our first time with chickens!

Meet the girls. We have no idea what we're doing. We consulted a few chicken experts so the girls have food, clean water, warmth, are living in the garage, and we are in-process of building a coop. We are in coastal NC and are having a 6ft fence put in to help deter predators in the future. We are building a heavily reinforced coop so the coyotes and foxes (and raccoons) can't dig under.

I just wanted to share that this is our first time and we are a little nervous. Our kids keep kissing them so I'm sure they're going to have salmonella or something now (the kids - not the chickens).
