Looking for inspiration for a 1 month trip

I have a month free this coming August and am desperate to do a solo trip. I have been to Latin America a few times and live in the UK so am trying to push the boat out a bit more.

I'm not hugely into nature travel so many of the classic African destinations don't particularly appeal to me, nor do more touristy Asian countries like Thailand and Indonesia.

If anybody has any recommendations for interesting, and mostly safe, destinations I would really appreciate some suggestions.

Some ideas I'm currently exploring are Ghana, Northern India, China and the US, each having their own pros and cons - looking for a lightbulb moment here, but if anyone has any interesting insights about these places that would be great
