People who travel to Bosnia usually only go to Sarajevo or Mostar. Here some pictures from a different part - The Una Canyon from Ostrožac to Bosanska Krupa

Unfortunately i didn't actually reach Bosanska Krupa because i ran out of time, but another time definitely!

Pictures 1 and 2 are of the Stari Grad Ostrožac, the castle which once used to host the "Captains" of the region until it was bought by an Austrian-Maltese family who turned the fortress into the castle you see in the pictures. Badly damaged as it came under fire in the bosnian war. I was given a tour by a descendant of the original owners who grew up in the town and visited the castle many times when it was still in a better condition before the war.

Picture 4 shows the famous emerald green colour of the river Una. The colour comes from dissolved limestone which forms into crystals of calcium carbonate which in turn relect light in blue and green wavelengths, causing it to take on this colour. According to legend, the river got it's name from the Romans who found the river so beautiful that they declared "This is the one/unique", hence the name coming from Latin.

Picture 7 is something you will commonly see in the region. Bosnia still has a lot of mines leftover from the war, many of which are not cleared yet. Be mindful if you go hiking in this region. Stay only on marked paths and if you see a sign like this, do not proceed.

Picture 8 shows how clear the water actually is. You could drink from it, but it is safer to drink from one of the many natural springs along it's path.
