TLDR: 2 weeks in Charlotte, NC; roadtripping for a week to KC, MO & then back home to MKE, WI need suggestions

Going on a long road trip for some activities this summer & would LOVE some suggestions from locals or travelers with good experiences!

I’m gonna be solo on the road — the emojis will give you a rough idea of what my fav interests are; golf, poker, good food, hiking/walking trails, beaches, animals

Here’s the trip:

LEG 1: Milwaukee, WI ➡️Winston Salem, NC
This first part of the trip is to attend a friends graduation and golf for the weekend so im full of activities already

LEG 2: Winston Salem, NC ➡️ Charlotte, NC
Staying in Charlotte from May 17–29 to watch my sisters dog & work remotely; any suggestions for golf courses / hiking trails / good food spots would be much appreciated!!

LEG 3: Charlotte, NC ➡️ Kansas City, MO
So im going from my sisters place in Charlotte to my cousins in KC; I will be traveling all week from the 29th - June 5th thru the route shown above. As stated my itinerary is to see cousins June 5 and I’ll have all week to stop wherever I want along the way. I highlighted Birmingham, Memphis, and Jonesboro as I’d love to see those cities and their respective states; im a big geography / history person and have an odd attraction to cities/places like those instead of seeing Dallas or Atlanta or the “bigger, more mainstream” cities

LEG 4: Kanas City, MO ➡️ Milwaukee, WI
The way home. Iowans, however many of you there are, show me what you got baby

Plz drop any suggestions / tips thank u tons 🫶🏼
