Help with at home nails!

Help! I have been doing gel nails at home for a few months, and I cannot get it to last. I start to get chips/lifting a day after and they never last longer than a week. I‘m not hard on my nails or doing anything that should cause it to chip that fast. I have only painted my toes with gel twice but both times those have lasted great.

My process is pushing back cuticles, wipe with alcohol, and paint very thin layers curing for 60 seconds/layer. I have most recently tried Kupa base and top coat with colors/light from Jodsone on Amazon. I don’t like to buff my nails as it hasn’t made a difference in how it lasts and just thins them out. I’m not flooding my nails at all or getting it on my skin.

Do I need to buy a different brand of colors or lamp? Is there an important step I’m missing? Any suggestions welcome!
