backpacking in central/South America for 6 months - I wear daily contacts

I am worried about space in my backpack (it is big, Gregory Deva 60L but I do not want it to be entirely packed to the brim) and 6 months of daily contacts feels like a lot to bring with me. That said, I have only ever worn dailies for over 15 years and for several reasons don’t want to try to wear monthlies. Does anyone have experience with needing to bring lots of contacts /insight on a similar situation?
