I live in a suburban area and one neighbor has a coop right next to the fence line. When I walk past I stop to greet the chicken. I've noticed a few times now she'll be further away and when I come up she approaches the fence making this noise and looking at me. She's not puffed up or skittish. What does this noise mean? Is it like a chicken greeting? I never see the homeowners around so I can't just ask them.
