Inventory Allocating for TTRPG
Hello Everyone!
Wondering if I can get some help regarding some formatting, as I'm relatively new to Excel.
As shown in the attached image - I have created an spreadsheet for a TTRPG game, specifically for loot discovered at the end of a large battle. The players are in downtime, and are going to organise who's having what, and what's being sold/abandoned/other.
I've created a total quantity of items, and a remaining total which changed based on the PC's entry for what amount of items they desire.
How would I prevent the players from inputting an amount which would be in excess of the remaining total?
I've attempted to data validate it, with some success - however, if I ask to check the remaining column, when it decreases after the PC input, it gives the error message saying that the inputted amount is in excess of the current remaining value (not what *was* available, but *now* available).
For example:
If the remaining value = 1.
If PC allocates that 1 for themselves - new remaining value = 0. Error shows as PC value is greater than remaining.
I'm sure there's an easy way of doing this and I'm missing it. I'd appreciate any help - thank you!
