Luberon Villages (smaller / off the beaten path)

Hi all!

My wife and I are looking for recommendations for a base in the Luberon area. We found a cost-effective rental in Mérindol, but we're open to other ideas!

We stayed in St. Rémy last time (and loved visiting Avignon, Arles, etc.), but want to focus on the Luberon villages this trip. We’re looking for a relaxed, safe town with good local restaurants and bars—lively enough to have some evening options, but not overly touristy.

Any thoughts on Mérindol, or other towns we should look into for budget-friendly rentals?
