In the beginning I believed it was all full-glam and heavy sparkle, however, the trends are now much more balanced and contemporary.

According to my research, clean silhouette, minimal sequin dresses are extremely popular in 2026 with the sparkle applied strategically rather than to the entire outfit. Metallic and silver sequin designs are another trend to wear, inspired by the 90s, and make a bold yet classy look at a party. Designers are also combining sequins with satin or meshes to give a contrast and movement.

During my search on suppliers websites on the internet, including the ones in Alibaba, I came across numerous new designs based on lightweight and wearable sequin fabrics.

As I have learned, the fashion is moving towards comfort + shine as opposed to heavy overload.
