are gauchos back in style????

so i've had these gaucho pants since i was 14, i bought them at a thrift store and got relentlessly made fun of so they've been sitting in my closet for years. i found them and got the idea to wear them out (just to the grocery store) the other day and i got SO many compliments. mostly from people under the age of 25-ish. wtf is going on???? i get that fashion moves in cycles but this seems like such an ugly and unfashionable (but also comfortable) part of it to bring back.
