Always flat roots with Dyson airwrap id

Hello! I would like to get some advice on how to get volume in my roots on my Dyson id! My hair is very thick and there’s lots of it and it’s about a 3a curl type (if that matters). I use it when my hair is damp,mouse,blowout cream and hair protectant (not in that order). Also my curls look kinda greasy sometimes??? Idk how to fix that?? I love my Dyson but man I can never get volume where I want it to be (on top of my head but most volume I get are on the sides of my face). Please helpful advice! I also pin up my curls too!
