Solo Meghalaya and Nagaland in Monsoon

So a little bit about me, I am 22M and a seasoned traveller and have travelled to 60+ cities in India already but I have never explored the NorthEast side of india. I am a bengali still I have always neglected that part fo tourrism. Now I have a bit of time in July so I was planning on doing a 15 day trip in Nagaland and Meghalaya. I was hoping if anyone has done it before and can share some useful tips.

I am also debating about using an operator or an organised tour or going absolutely solo (The primary concern is rain and getting stuck somewhere, with and operator it is taken care of easily ig)
