Upper lip skin peeled from waxing, healed into dark spot

Hi hoping for some recommendations on how to get rid of or reduce a dark spot on my upper lip! Basically used wax strips and I guess overdid it cause one side of my skin peeled off and like a dummy I had picked at the scabbing that formed.

The skin has healed now but it’s left a darker patch of skin and I hate it and it’s so obvious on my upper lip!

Been using amlactin lotion to try and reduce the appearance of it but not sure if it’ll actually do anything. Is there anything else I could use/buy to help reduce and get rid of it? Thank you in advance!!
