UK itinerary suggestion: Scotland vs England

Hi, we are visiting UK for the first time for 5 days in the end of June. We wanted a suggestion on what would be better to cover:
1. Scottish highlands, including Edinburgh and Isle of Skye. What would be the best route in terms of scenery to Isle of Skye?
2. England: Lake District, Cornwall, Wales etc.

Just for context, we love nature, hiking, mountains, meadows etc. So we’ve been slightly biased towards Scotland, but would love to know any inputs on this!

Also, what would the best way to cover either option: through a guided tour, trains or a self-driven rented vehicle? TIA!
