Guatemala Volcano hike in June-July

Hello. I was looking at a volcano hike out of Antigua for late June or sometime in July. With Lava Trails tour company most likely.

Just an overnight hike. So fly into Antigua for a full day, then day 2 hike-stay overnight-back to Antigua then fly out on day four.

My understanding is that it’s rainy season and the hike can be wet and slick and the mountains hard to see and the volcano hard to see.

Is this generally not a great time? I’ve done hikes up mountains but this would be the tallest and possibly the most challenging.

I can wait until December or so if necessary.
