Clueless boyfriend - How to do at home spa day

Hey all!

I want to do an at home spa day for my girlfriend and myself, I have never done anything like this before and I don't know where to begin.

The amount of products and things to buy for a spa day feels overwhelming and I don't quite know what to get vs. what to avoid.

This post is for everyone to comment on as I appreciate all perspectives, however I want to get the opinion of women if at all possible. If you partner surprised you with an at home spa day, what would that look like? What sort of things would you expect to see? Any specific products I should buy?

Really all I know right now is nice scented candles, some fancy robes and towels, and facial products/bath bomb stuff.

EDIT/ I should note that my girlfriend is allergic to Aloe so not sure if that limits things.
