My passport got damp from within a bag that got soaked and the pages warped. Do I need an emergency passport to get home?

My fiance and I (US Citizens) had our passports in a small backpack we took with us on a hike in Iceland. Wind picked up and caused the nearby waterfall to soak us for a few seconds as we were heading down a trail and the bag she was carrying got soaked. We ended up hiking another 30 min back around before getting to our car when we noticed that the passports got a bit wet and the pages got slightly wavy. We put them up to the car AC vent for a while to dry and it worked pretty well, they look pretty straight now and I didn't notice any water damage to the pages themselves. I downloaded the realid me app and it was able to verify both the passport chips. We leave on Tuesday and are flying back to the US via delta. Are we ok to get home or should we book an appointment with the embassy asap?
