Does a scalp massager truly work?

One of my besties included a Spa Dr scalp massager in my bridesmaid package. Never used one before but I'm curious enough to give it a real shot.

My main question is...does it actually make a noticeable difference for hair growth or scalp health, or is it more of a feels amazing but doesn't really do much thing?? And is there a right way to use it to get the best results? Like should I be using it with an oil, in the shower, dry scalp only?? I don't want to half ass it if it actually works
