Walking through giant sand sculptures in Antalya, Turkey felt surreal

I visited the Sandland sand sculpture exhibition in Antalya, Turkey, and it was far more impressive than I expected.

The exhibition features giant sculptures created entirely from sand, including mythological creatures, historical figures, pyramids, sphinxes, fantasy characters, and massive animal statues. Walking between them felt almost surreal because many of the sculptures are several meters tall and filled with incredible details.

Some sections were inspired by ancient Egyptian themes, while others focused on mythology and fantasy worlds. One of the most interesting parts for me was seeing how artists transformed ordinary sand into sculptures that look almost like stone monuments.

The atmosphere became even more impressive near sunset, when the shadows and warm light made the sculptures look alive.

I really enjoyed exploring the area slowly, stopping at each sculpture and trying to notice the small details carved into the sand. It was one of the more unusual places I’ve visited in Antalya.

1-A giant lion sculpture welcoming visitors at the entrance.
2-Mythology-inspired sand statues spread across the exhibition area.
3-A massive bearded figure emerging from the sand.
4-Egyptian-themed sculptures including a sphinx and pyramid.
5-Fantasy sea-creature sculptures with detailed textures.
6-Giant griffin sculpture created entirely from sand.
7-The sculptures looked even more dramatic under the evening sunlight.
8-Many sculptures were inspired by ancient civilizations and legends.
9-Every artwork was handmade using only sand and water.
10-Walking through the exhibition felt like exploring an open-air fantasy museum.
