At what age did you allow your daughter to start wearing makeup?

My daughter (8YO) has been asking me for makeup for quite a while. I’ve been resisting (mainly because my husband wouldn’t let her anyways), but now I feel like she is ready.

At what age did you start wearing makeup and/or allowing your child to wear makeup? Any advice on rules (e.g. only for special occasions?) and also if you know of any brands that you’d recommend. Her cousin (12YO) suggested Silly Unicorn and Evereden, I’m familiar with Tower 28, and I personally use Merit but I don’t think that Merit is age appropriate at all.
