Is this dress appropriate for the residency graduation as a guest? cocktail attire and it will be in a ballroom.

I am invited to my boyfriend’s residency graduation and I have decided wearing this dress ( one of the options I have). I am fashion forward and don’t like to be boring. This dress shoes the toe of my shoes as I walk and it has sequins so it definitely falls into cocktail dress. what do you think? thanks
