how to choose quality designer brooches?

I’m recently up designer brooches since I wanted something different to accessorize my jackets and bags. I'm really not up for brooches in my styles that much but a couple of vintage look ones online made me curious so I started looking around. I had looked at online shops to compare the styles and to see if there are discounts. Some smaller boutiques offer seasonal sales, on the other hand larger marketplaces lower the prices of older collections. I have also searched Alibaba and a few other sites just to check some designs. I can't decide whether it is better to wait for holiday sales or just buy something I like. Also, I am curious how people normally decide the quality when they are shopping online for accessories like this. Those who purchase designer brooches online, have you thought some certain periods of the year are better for discounts, or do you count on being patient and getting lucky with random sales?
