Which is Easier to Travel Around: Thailand or Vietnam

I am planning to visit either Thailand or Vietnam before heading to Australia for my exchange semester abroad. I will be in the destination from 7/1 to 7/12. Because I will be traveling with quite a bit of luggage, I wanted to ask which country would be best for getting around comfortably. I’ll most likely have one checked bag and a carry-on suitcase.

Any recommendations or itinerary ideas would be appreciated 🙂
