4 Days in Austria is wonderful with clear skies

I took a short sojourn to Austria early this month before exam season and took some nice photos. Only did Vienna, Melk, Hallstatt, and Salzburg. Will certainly aim to see more of the Salzkammergut and Carinthia later. Planning to drive through Vorarlsberg, Tyrol and Innsbruck, and Liechtenstein next year!

Schönbrunn was really nice but it’s no Versailles (sorry Rick Steves) and I thought the Hofburg sufficed as a nice imperial palace, especially the museums in the Neue Berg. Sachertorte is really nice despite it being kind of dry, and I have a newfound appreciation for Radler. Made sure to have some nice Grüner Veltliner wine. As someone who has always read about Vienna and the Habsburg empire of old, it still seems unreal to me that I’ve stepped within the Ringstrasse and seen the city. Favorite restaurant I ate as was actually a Serbian place, ironic.
