Third Time in Paris: What I’d Recommend to Repeat Visitors (May, 2026)

Just wrapped up 3 days in Paris. I’ve been here a few times before, so this wasn’t a “hidden gems” trip and it wasn’t a first-timer itinerary either. It ended up being a mix of touristy things I’d somehow never gotten around to doing and a few less obvious spots.

For example, I finally spent proper time around Montmartre beyond just visiting Sacré-Cœur. I went to Musée de Montmartre, wandered through Parc de la Turlure, and generally explored the neighborhood at a slower pace. Same with Musée de Cluny, which I rarely see mentioned compared to the Louvre or Orsay.

Day 1: Montmartre
Musée de Montmartre was surprisingly good and much quieter than the crowds around Sacré-Cœur.
Wandered around Place du Tertre and some of the side streets.
Sunset from Sacré-Cœur never gets old.
Dinner at Caboulot. Absolutely fantastic steak frites with a pepper sauce that I am still thinking about.

Day 2: Île de la Cité + Saint-Germain
Morning walk through Parc Monceau.
Lunch at ANONA (Michelin-starred). Beautiful presentation but they served a raw pork course and honestly it wasn’t for me.
Notre-Dame and Sainte-Chapelle.
Walked around Île de la Cité, Square du Vert-Galant, Pont Neuf, and Saint-Germain.
Dinner at Bouche.

Day 3: Old Paris
Musée de Cluny was one of the highlights of the trip. If you’ve already done the Louvre and Orsay, this is such a great change of pace.
Lunch at Le Perraudin. Classic French comfort food. French onion soup and escargot were exactly what I wanted.
Luxembourg Gardens, Shakespeare & Company, and a long walk along the Seine.
Evening Seine cruise.
