is everyone just using google translate or is there actually a better way

genuinely curious if anyone has a better solution for this — when you're travelling somewhere and don't speak the language at all, and you end up in a situation where you actually need to communicate something properly

like a restaurant, or a pharmacy or a hotel dispute or something. the whole thing of typing into google translate and then hitting the mic button to record what they say back feels so clunky and slow and half the time the translation is garbage anyway

is there anything people actually use that works better or is everyone just stuck doing the translate app thing
