Is is possible to fix cheesecloth trousers?

I’m plus size and the first time I tried to wear non stretch / cotton trousers they completely laddered around the thighs- I accepted it was probably my bigger thighs being the culprit. I found a pair of trousers on vinted recently, they were a good few sizes bigger than my normal size and were very comfortable and loose so I thought it couldn’t possibly happen this time - WRONG! After a few hours of wear they have laddered the entire way down each thigh and I’m gutted. Not only have I tried to source this exact style / colour of trousers in plus size for over a year but I’ve only managed to get one wear out of them and I hate the thought of them having to go in the bin it’s so wasteful. I’m realising this style of trouser just isn’t suited to me but is there any way to mend it? Please help! Xxx
