Weird behavior
So I have recently introduced a rooster into my flock, maybe 3 months ago. Everything has been super fine with that, he gets along with everyone most of the time. I noticed today when my broody hen got off the eggs and joined in the free roaming that he came down and started chasing her. He didn’t seem to be attacking her in any means, but it was super unusual for him. He has been respectful to everyone else from what I can see, and it is only when she came out of the coop that he did this. He does not bother her when she is on the eggs/in the run of the coop.
Edit to add: I have looked her over throughly and she does not have any injuries and no missing feathers. From what I have read, this also appears to be normal behavior and I way to re-establish her position in the flock seeming as she is not active in their affairs while she is on a nesting box all day. She is able to get to her food and water no problem, and otherwise seems healthy and fine. I am just looking for input on anyone else’s experience on if there is something I need to be doing about it.
Also, I finally have my first fertilized egg. “Candled” today and saw veins!
