Help! Two dresses, zero decisions :(

Help! Two dresses, zero decisions :(

So I'm invited to a wedding and I am a bit overwhelmed about what to wear as I don't go to weddings often. The dress code says: "Black tie recommended, formal evening attire. Guests are invited to wear any color (aside from white, please)."

I've narrowed it down to two dresses and now I'm stuck in an loop of overthinking.

The blue dress – feels like the safer, more on-brief pick for black tie. But is it too… basic? I do have a fun cute bag that pairs well with it, so that could add some personalitY
The green dress – I really like this one but I'm worried it might not read "chic" enough for the vibe. I do have more elegant shoes that could elevate it though.

For context: the couple are friends of my partner. I've only met them a couple of times, so I don't know them super well - which makes me want to nail the dress code even more somehow

Oh, and not sure if this matters, but the wedding is in Paris and the venue is less classic-romantic, more artsy-cool. So Reddit, what do we think - blue or green? Any styling tips to level either one up? Help a gal out! πŸ™
